Anzac Day - Connecting the community during COVID-19

Updated: May 15, 2020

On April 25th 2019 due to COVID-19 restrictions, The Kindness Kombi participated in a drive to help bring the community together to pay tribute on Anzac Day.

The day was prepared with the approval of RSL South Australia & The City of PAE.

At 6AM, The Kindness Kombi attended Aged Care centre Wesley House. We played The Last Post, had one minute of silence and left a wreath for the residents.

The kombi then drove from Fort Glanville to Outer Harbour. This allowed for local residents of Port Adelaide/Semaphore to light a candle and hear the The Last Post as we played it from a speaker along the foreshore.

We stopped along the way and left wreaths at various key locations in the community.

Wreaths were made by Port Blooms and donated by The City of PAE.

We also visited Aged Care Homes:

Semaphore Residential Care Centre & ECH Marten Retirement Village where we played The Last Post, had a minute silence and layed a wreath.
